Fantastic home cooking southern style food. They close early so make sure to get in there before the sides get gone. The chicken club can be ordered cajun or southern fried and both are sooo good. Mac and cheese just like at a church potluck. Definitely suggest checking out this place. I'll be back to try the breakfast.

Kinch's is one of those down-home southern restaurants that you shouldn't miss when in Rock Hill. Good food, from salads, burgers, veggies, cobblers, they really have a great selection and great sweet tea to go with it. Yum. Kinch himself really seals the deal, as he remembers you (and if he doesn't, you wouldn't know it!). He's a great guy and a community supporter. To be a mom and pop type place, I'm always surprised at the number of business deals that happen over breakfast or lunch at this place. All types of people are drawn to the food and "Rock Hill Atmosphere" of Kinchs. I, too, would love to give it a 5-star rating, but sometimes when Kinch isn't there, the waitstaff is lacking. This week, introducing someone to Kinch's for the first time, we left feeling like it was a strike out. But 9 times out of 10, you'll be a happy camper. Still one of my go-to places in Rock Hill! That hasn't changed one bit. :)

First rate service and great fried chicken! Who doesn't love Kinch's homemade vegatables and serve yourself ice tea? It's been a while since I was in Rock Hill - Old Town district to be exact, and there was that sign. Formerly Watkins hotdog stand in the 70's & 80's, Kinches has now served me three meals since I've been back in town. Each one has been very good. I recommend the black-eyed peas, collard greens, and fried chicken with sweet tea. You might not do your waist line a favor by eating there every day but I recommend at least stopping by twice a month to say hi to Barbara! I just love her. If I'm ranking restaurants in OTRH, they are the best. I think OT has some great choices NOW but there is just something about the food, friends & nostalgia at Kinchs!

Excellent fried chicken, amazing choice of veggies, boiled okra, crowder peas, speckled butter beans!!? No way you would find down home cooking other than your Grandmothers like this place. It would have been a 5 star review, the tea just wasn't to my liking. I should note that the service is top notch also.

Okay...so I wanted to give Kinch's five stars...as I haven't been disappointed with their food. I took the kids with me for lunch today. Corralling a rambunctious 3 & 4 year old is a difficult task that many of you know first hand. You also know that something as simple as getting your children's plates ready, is an event of its own. The kids were going to share a pimento cheeseburger today...which by the way...is really good. As I'm cutting their burger in half...I find a long hair. I quickly grabbed it and flung it aside. I'm not really grossed out by Mom & Pops with small issues like organic dental floss in their food...even though it's not a great selling point. The waitress came by...saw tomatoes on the side of the plate...and said, "shoulda said no tomatoes huh?" Um...yea...I actually did ask for "no tomatoes". Still...I'm not irritated. After finishing our very tasty lunch. My kids were now allowed to eat the banana pudding I got for them. Yep, there's a nice long hair sticking out of it. I know you'd expect me to give Kinch's a much worse rating than I did, but I actually like this place. The food is good and the people are friendly. I just can't say it'll be one of the first on my radar anymore.

Good homecooked Southern food! If you are in downtown Rock Hill, SC at lunchtime, look for Kinch's across the street from the Police department and the library. You won't be sorry.

I thought that this was going to be another place that was going to be a gem for home cooked country food. As I ran through my evaluation everything seemed to fit (e.g. looks like a dive - check, lots of people - check, tables are clean - check). Sorry but I was disappointed. Each of the items that my group ordered for lunch had been sitting in a steamer, on the counter, or in the refrigerator far too long. That fact alone made the food overcooked and in some cases nearly inedible. This place is probably a candidate for Gordon Ramsay.
